wistful.

sometimes in life you can't find the right words. that's where a photo comes in handy.
sometimes photos can be the perfect window into a memory.
this is a photo journal that has the right thing to say.

a snowy walk.

yesterday and wednesday night we had a lot of snow come through town. so of course i had to photograph it. and freeze my little tushy off. [:

snowstorms always remind me of robert frost, especially “stopping through woods on a snowy evening”. it goes like this.

“whose woods these are i think i know.
his house in in the village though;

“he will not see me stopping here
to watch his woods fill up with snow.”

“my little horse must think it queer,
to stop without a farmhouse near,
between the woods and frozen lake,
the darkest evening of the year.”

“he gives his harness bells a shake,
to ask if there is some mistake,
the only other sounds the sweep,
of easy wind and downy flake.”

“the woods are lovely, dark and deep,
but I have promises to keep.”

“and miles to go before I
sleep,
and miles to go before I sleep.”

happy winter!
-me.

winter break snippets.

oh how i love winter break. especially since i go to SCAD. our winter break is 6 1/2 weeks long (although i am returning early), which is a nice, long time to spend at home and prepare for a long leg at school until summer.

although i always plan on being productive during these breaks, i am usually extremely lazy, but i have been keeping myself busy with crocheting, and watching lots of tv series’ (psych, revenge, once upon a time, new girl, pushing daisies, to name a few). but! i have been taking some photos here and there. so here are some of those:

things over break.

1. I got a haircut, with straight bangs. It’s exciting because I have almost always had side bangs.

2. I’ve gotten a lot of family time.. mostly with my 14-month old niece, Sophie.

.

3. I’ve been spending lots of time with my best friend, Cassidy, which has been really nice. [:

4. I’ve also been spending time with church friends. I joined a bible study for college-aged kids and we went on a retreat in the mountains recently!

so yes. i realize that i am posting this right as my winter break is drawing to a close, so there are a lot of photos. but i like that.

I don’t know if I could describe this break in one word, because it has been a lot of different things. It’s been almost surreal, for some reason, being back at home. It never feels quite real while I’m at school, and so when I come home it’s like a dream come true. It’s been especially snowy this break as well, so I’m pretty happy. (I always miss the snow)
I know God is blessing me immensely lately.
anywho.

I’m hoping this is something I can keep up with, seeing as I’m pretty familiar with tumblr and how it works, and I really would like to be taking/editing photos more regularly.

tomorrow will be a post about the big snow storm that just came through, and what I decided to do with it.
